Tripura Working Journalists’ Association (TWJA in short) was established in the year 1979 with basic objects to develop professional and ethical skills of the working journalists of Tripura and ensure their professional rights. With the course of time, TWJA has become the biggest organization of working journalists with present strength of members passing 230. The enrolment of new members and renewal of existing ones is a continuous process.
The members, besides their professional engagement, are involved in various socio-welfare activities and mobilizing public opinion for betterment of the Society. They also regularly take part in Seminar, Workshop and Debate and consistently encourage kids to shape their future. TWJA has organized number of workshops to sharpen their professional skills by involving senior journalists of National repute. It has also organized Sit-and-Draw for the school students, photo exhibition for the photo journalists and extended timely support to people in distress during COVID-19 Epidemic and devastating flood.
Separate delegation of TWJA members took part in National Session of Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ in short) in 2024 and 2025 as respectively held at Kolkata and Jodhpur and expressed total solidarity with IFWJ in its good works for the welfare of working journalists across the Nation.
